Roland “Ronnie” Taylor, Jr., of Laurinburg passed away on Sunday, April 25, 2010 at the age of 61.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, April 28, 2010 at the Friendship Holiness Church officiated by the Rev. Rodney Nichols. Burial will follow the service at Pinecrest Cemetery.

Ronnie was born Aug. 17, 1948 in Marlboro County, S.C., son of the late Roland and Beulah Grooms Taylor. He was a loving husband, father and an amazing grandfather. He retired from the Eaton Corporation after 37 years of dedicated service. He served the Lord as a faithful member of Friendship Holiness Church. Ronnie enjoyed playing golf, working in the yard and tinkering and fixing things. His favorite times were those spent with his grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Ronnie was also preceded in death by a grandson, Jamie “Austin” Taylor.

He leaves behind his beloved wife of 41 years, Linda H. Taylor of the home; his daughters, Chasity Young and husband Royce of Asheboro, Ronnie Lynn Tunstall and husband Larry of Laurel Hill, and Jennifer T. Locklear of Laurinburg; three brothers, Charles Edward Taylor and wife Terena of Laurinburg, Larry Mack Taylor and wife Linda of Hamlet, and William “Bill” Taylor and wife Ann of Gibson; and his grandchildren, Thad Young, Ronnie Young, Savanna Tunstall, Destiny Oxendine and Shakori Locklear.

The visitation will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, April 27 at Richard Boles Funeral Service.

The family requests that memorial donations be made in memory of Ronnie to Friendship Holiness Church, l0680 Taylor Road, Laurinburg, NC 28352.
