Scotland jayvee’s shipwreck Lady Pirates with big inning

The Scotland jayvee’ softball team’s shutout streak may have come to an end against Lumberton, but its winning streak is still in tack.

The Lady Scots improved to 8-0 on the season with an 18-1 win over the Lady Pirates.

Scotland goes to 2-0 in Southeastern Conference play.

Ariana Tsalamandris improved her record to 4-0 on the season with a 43-pitch performance.

Tsalamandris went four solid innings and along with Bailey Jacobs, the tandem came within a walk of throwing a perfect game. The Lady Scots scored in every inning, including seven runs in the foruth inning.

Casey Holm did her in the win, turning in a 4-for-4 performance, scoring three times.

Jacobs, Paige Butler and Destiny Morrison, all went 2-for-4 while Allison Critcher and Jasmine Douglas both went 1-for-1 at the plate.

Scotland traveled to rival Richmond with first place up for grabs Thursday afternoon. Results were not available at press time.
