Phillip Aaron Walters, 34, of Jamestown Road, was arrested Wednesday and charged with two counts of possession of a schedule II controlled substance and one count each of possession of a schedule III controlled substance and possession of a schedule IV controlled substance, according to a sheriff's report.
Walters had been stopped for driving while impaired, according to Sheriff Shep Jones. Deputies found multiple pills on Walters after a search.
Deputies seized 15 Ambian pills, six Methadone pills, five Xanax pills, one Oxyconton and one Vicodin from Walters person, the report said.
Walters was placed in Scotland County jail under a $5,000 secured bond.
Walters spent 6 months in prison and been convicted on six drug charges, three larcenies, two break-ins, a sexual offense, resisting arrest and speeding to elude arrest, according to the state Department of Correction. He also has convictions for two prior DWI and multiple traffic violations.
