The Scots made sure that did not happen.
Fueled by all six singles competitors winning their matches, Scotland improved to 2-0 in the early season with a 7-2 win over Purnell Swett.
“We had a much easier day today on the courts,” Roller said. “I’m very proud of the young men for only losing just one game in singles competition.”
Josiah Boda (No.1), Will McDonald (No.2), Tyler Minnick (No.3) and Andrew Smith (No.4) put the Scots up 4-0 after winning their singles’ matches without giving up one game.
Allen Michael Minnick (No.5) won his two matches, 6-1, 6-0 and Walt Hughes (No.6) won his match, 6-0 and 6-0.
Boda and (Tyler) Minnick won 8-0 in No.1 doubles competition.
Alex Berdeau and Josh Goodwin fell in No.2 doubles, 8-5 and Aarom Berdeau and Demonte Alford lost in No.3 doubles, 8-2.
Scotland will play their third match in as many days when they host Hoke County at the Scotland Tennis Center today at 4 p.m.
