Excessive rain forces cancellation of Scotland High sporting events

After all the rain that Scotland County got on Thursday forced the cancellation of sporting events for that day, gray skies and no sun out, made fields and courts around the area unplayable for sporting events Friday as well.

The Scotland tennis team had to reschedule their match with Purnell Swett for a second time.

The Scots will travel to the Rams on Wednesday, Mar. 17.

Scotland will open their season at home this Tuesday at 4 p.m. against Pinecrest.

The Scots baseball team was to travel to Anson County on Friday but their game has been canceled along with the jayvee’ game at home with the Bearcats.

No make up date has been announced.

Scotland baseball will return to action on Wednesday when they host the Bulldogs of Terry Sanford at McCoy Field starting at 5 p.m.

Jayvee’s will play at Terry Sanford on the same day.

On tap for Monday:

The Scotland softball team will travel to Anson County at 5 p.m., while the jayvee’ Lady Scots will host the Lady Beracats .

Scots golf will hit the links at 2 p.m. at the Bayonet Country Club in Hoke County.

Scotland ninth-grade baseball will have their home opener at Legion Park against Hoke. First pitch is set for 4:30 p.m.
