A total of thirteen students participated in different technology events against middle school students from across the state.
Students prepared for these events during their technology class with Sharon Stephens, CarverÕs AIG facilitator. Members of the club spent numerous hours on research and model design over the course of the school year. Groups also worked with software programs that assisted them in developing videos, brochures and slide presentations.
First-place winners are:
Lakresha Brown in Career Challenge: conducted research on a computer forensic scientist and used the knowledge gained to prepare a resume and cover letter, complete a job application, and participate in a mock interview.
Second-place winners are:
Lakresha Brown, Meredith Tillman and Shea Stutts in Medical Technology created a display and research notebook on ÒStem Cell ResearchÓ.
Breanna Aumeoeualogo and Daniel Williams in Electronic Game Design: developed an E-rated game that focuses on scoietial issues.
Third-place winners are:
Hannah Hardy, Breanna Aumeoeualogo and Mayghan Campbell in Environmental Challenge: created a notebook and Power Point presentation on a Styrofoam recycling program
Anna Norton in T-Shirt Design: created a themed logo shirt promoting TSA and Leadership
Hannah Hardy in Write Now! Technical Writing Challenge wrote an on sight comprehensive report on the economy.
Kenslee Hecht in Prepared Speech: delivered an oral presentation with visual enhancement that reflected the theme ÒTSA: TomorrowÕs LeadersÓ
Other Finalist included Ashley Barnes, Cearra Blackwell, Katelyn Britt, and Sallie Wegner
The club will advance to the TSA National Conference in Baltimore, MD June 28th- July 2nd.
