Despite sloppy weather Thursday afternoon, the Carver middle softball team remained undefeated with a 7-0 win in five innings over the Marlboro Academy jayvee’ squad. The game was called due to rain.

“ We got a good defensive effort and had some strong pitching,” Carver coach Scottie Jacobs said.

Hayley Butler picked up the win inside the circle, pitching five innings of shut-out ball with 11 strikeouts.

Hannah Bray paced the Lady Eagles with a 2-for-3 performance at the plate with an RBI.

Katelyn Britt finished 1-for-1 with a triple and three RBIs while Cearra Blackwell went 1-for-2.

Carver will host Hamlet Monday at 4 p.m.
