ROCKINGHAM-Scotland ninth-grade baseball started their season off with some fireworks.

The Scots belted three home runs en route to an 8-4 win over Richmond Green in a shortened affair Monday afternoon. The game was called after five innings due to darkness.

Chris Graves picked up the win going 5.1 innings, allowing just two hits while walking a pair and striking out 15.

Blake Bennett finished 2-for-4 with two of Scotland’s long balls. Martin Locklear added another homer and went 2-for-3.

Justin Brown turned in a 2-for-3 performance and C.J. Horton went 1-for-1 with a double.

The Scots will return to Richmond on Thursday and face Richmond Gold. First pitch is set for 4 p.m.
