Mrs. Nannie Jane Underwood, 87, of 1709 Stonewall Road Apt. 219, Laurinburg, died Sunday, Feb. 28, 2010 at her home. Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 4, 2010 at 2 p.m. at Bright Hopewell Baptist Church in Laurinburg. The Rev. Garland Pierce will officiate. Burial will be at Hillside Memorial Park Cemetery in Laurinburg. The family will receive friends at 13200 West Boulevard in Laurinburg.

Survivors are eight daughters, Lucille Lockhart, Johnnie Mason, Rosa Underwood, Mary Belin, Elise Smith, Catherine Underwood, and Hazel Pace, all of Laurinburg, and Wallenia Underwood of Lumberton; one brother, Elton Smith of Cleveland, Ohio; three sisters, Mary Odom of Laurinburg, Mary Frances Tolbert of Palatka, Fla., and Carey Smith of Cleveland; 26 grandchildren; and a host of great-grandchildren.
