Survivors are eight daughters, Lucille Lockhart, Johnnie Mason, Rosa Underwood, Mary Belin, Elise Smith, Catherine Underwood, and Hazel Price, all of Laurinburg, and Wallenia Underwood of Lumberton; one brother, Elton Smith of Cleveland, Ohio; three sisters, Mary Odom of Laurinburg, Mary Frances Tolbert of Palatka, Fla., and Carey Smith of CLeveland; 26 grandchildren; and a host of great-grandchildren.
