According to Scotland County Red Cross Chapter Executive Director Carol Ann Lentz, those in attendance will have plenty of good food and fun in store for the occasion.
"Our annual celebrity dinner and game night takes place Saturday, but it's not too late to join in," Lentz said. "Attendance is up from last year, and we also have more tables than we had in 2009. We hope you can be a part of the fun."
In addition to being served by Red Cross volunteers who have donned a celebrity theme for themselves and their tables, participants will have a variety of activities in which to take part.
"There will be dancing, various games, a silent auction and a live auction," Lentz said. "The Carolina-Duke game will be broadcast as well, and we will have a wide screen TV on the wall for anyone to watch."
The event begins at 5:30 p.m. with dinner served at 7 p.m.
To participate, guests may sponsor at the Vanna White level for $100, the Bob Eubanks level at $500, the Richard Dawson level at $1,000, or at the Regis Philbin level for $2,000. One may also donate items to be raffled at the dinner, they may purchase tickets at $40 each, or they may choose to make a monetary contribution, with all proceeds benefitting the local Red Cross chapter.
"By being a part of the Red Cross Celebrity Dinner and Game Night, you will not only be contributing to a good cause, you will also have a whole lot of fun." Lentz said. "All proceeds stay within the local chapter, a way for neighbors to help neighbors. It is an excellent way for people to support the community."
