A 2006 Pontiac sedan driven by 20-year old Audrey Oxendine, of Brandy Road, struck 53-year old bicyclist Rickie Sinclair, of Red Springs, according to police.
Sinclear was riding his bike west on Hubert McLean Road when the Pontiax, also traveling west, struck his vehicle at about 5:42 p.m. on Saturday. He suffered a head injury in the accident and was taken to UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill, where he died on Monday.
The driver told police that she did not see Sinclair on the bicycle because she was blinded by the sun.
No charges have been filed in the incident, according to Red Springs police. The wreck is still under investigation.
Police said Sinclair was not wearing a helmet.
