Montgomery has accepted a position as the assistant women’s soccer coach at Youngstown State University in Youngstown, Ohio. St. Andrews will immediately begin a search for a new women’s soccer head coach.
“While St. Andrews is disappointed to be losing Coach Montgomery, we all wish her the best at Youngstown State,” said Batten. “Jenn (Montgomery) is a great coach and did an outstanding job in her one year at St. Andrews. We are definitely going to miss what she brought to the Lady Knights soccer program but the chance to move to a Division I school will certainly further her career.”
A graduate of the University of Central Florida, Montgomery was a multiple award winner and record-setting player for the UCF Knights before being hired at St. Andrews, her first collegiate head coaching job. In her only season at SAPC, Montgomery coached the Lady Knights to a 5-11-1 overall record.
“I cannot express enough gratitude to the St. Andrews community, administration, and to our athletic director Glenn Batten,” said Montgomery. “I have established lifelong friendships, and will miss my daily interaction with both student-athletes and coaches. As I move, with great anticipation, to the next chapter in my life, I wish the best of luck to the future of St. Andrews Women’s Soccer.”
St. Andrews will immediately begin a national search for a replacement. Batten has asked assistant AD’s Keith Williams and Elizabeth Burris to coordinate the search process.
