Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 21, 2010 at the Richard Boles Funeral Service Chapel officiated by Pastor Eddy Simmons. Burial will follow the service at Richmond County Memorial Park.
Mr. Gore was born April 9, 1932 in Richmond County, son of the late Duff and Ella Gore. He was a Korean War Veteran who proudly served in the United States Coast Guard. He was dedicated to his work as an Independent Insurance Agent. Mr. Gore also served as a faithful member of Stewartsville Baptist Church.
He was also preceded in death by his brothers, James Gore and Duff Gore, Jr.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 52 years, Maxine Rorie Gore of their home; two sons, John “William” Gore, Jr. also of the home and Alan “Bart” Gore and his wife, Stacy of Raleigh; a sister, Sarah Brown of Rockingham; four grandchildren, Amy Gore Carter and husband Jonathan, Justin Gore, Jenna Gore and Jordan Gore; and three great-grandchildren, Sierra, Chloe and Jonathan.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. prior to the service on Sunday at Richard Boles Funeral Service.
