The following is an update on former basketball and wrestling standouts from Scotland High School.

Stephon Platt- red-shirt freshman forward, Winston-Salem State

Platt, a 2008 Scotland graduate has seen action in 18 games for the Rams this season. The 6-foot-8 forward has averaged 3.4 points-per game and 1.4 rebounds-per game.

Mitchell Johnson- UNC Greensboro, 133-pound class

Johnson, a senior, is 3-5 this season with one of those wins coming by pin. He has not seen action since competing in the Southern Scuffle back on Dec. 29.

Alejandro Soto-Perez-UNC Greensboro, 149-pound class

Perez has compiled a 5-17 record thi season, and is 1-4 in dual matches. Of his five wins, four have come by pin, including a pin in the Spartans win over SoCon foe, Davidson, back on Jan.27.

Troy Baranik-St. Andrews, 157-pound class

As of Feb.3, the junior is still looking for his first win of the season. He’s 0-8 on the season.

Andre Ellerbe-St. Andrews, 285-pound class

The 2007 Scotland graduate is 6-9 in his matches this season, including 4-4 in dual competition. Of those four wins, three are by pin.

Casey Gashaw-St. Andrews, 125/133-pound class

Gashaw has put together a solid 09-10’ campaign, going 9-8 overall. The junior is currently 4-4 in dual matches with three pins.
