Viola Bowen Zydor of Laurel Hill passed away on Saturday, Jan. 30, 2010 at the age of 69.

The funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 2, 2010 at the Laurel Hill Baptist Church officiated by the Rev. Don Malpass. Burial will follow at Hillside Memorial Park.

Viola was born Oct. 29, 1940 in Scotland County, daughter of the late Edgar and Grace Morgan Bowen. She was the beloved wife of the late Thomas Gerald Zydor, Sr. She worked as a media assistant with the Scotland County Schools System, retiring after many years of dedicated service. She served as a longtime faithful member of the Laurel Hill Baptist Church and also the Laurel Hill Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary.

She was also preceded in death by brothers, Marcus Bowen and E. Thomas Bowen.

Mrs. Zydor is survived by her son Thomas G. “Tommy” Zydor Jr. and wife Michelle of Laurel Hill; a brother, James W. “Tink” Bowen and wife Dot of Matthews; a sister, Joyce B. Revels and husband Jack Revels of Daphne, Ala.; and her grandchildren, Kristin Hope Zydor and Scarlet Nichole Zydor.

The family requests that memorial donations be made in memory of Mrs. Zydor to Hospice of Scotland County, P.O. Box 1033, Laurinburg, NC 28353.

I am very sorry to hear about the loss of your mom. My mom passed over a year ago. I know what you and your family are feeling. I will keep you in my prayers. The Lord will see and help you get through this time in your life.
