In her new role, her responsibilities include overseeing risk Management, patient safety and infection control, customer and volunteer Services, pharmacy, and medical staff services.
Due to her background and years of experience, Dove also has oversight of the hospital’s Emergency Center.
“The Emergency Center is my first love, that’s where I started my nursing career,” she stated. “I am so pleased with Scotland Memorial’s Emergency Center. It is wonderful, with a great staff, excellent technology, and patient-focused design.”
Dr. Dr. Ralph Carter, orthopedic surgeon and chair of Scotland Memorial's
Clinical Quality Committee, says he is excited about the arrival of Dove.
"With her background and clinical experience in patient care, surgery, and emergency services, Dove is well equipped to bring service excellence at Scotland Memorial to a higher level," he said. "As vice president of quality, she will provide direction to increase the quality of services at the hospital, as well as lead the effort to institute a stronger customer service program."
With a 20-year career at Southeastern Regional Medical Center, the last two as senior director for patient care services, Dove brings a wealth of experience and talent to her new role at Scotland Health Care System, hospital officials say.
She has also served as director of both surgical services and emergency services at Southeastern Regional.
“Lori’s professional and personal values match up very well with ours. She will indeed fit in quite well in our health care system and bring us fresh, new ideas.” said Greg Wood, Scotland Health Care president and CEO.
One of Dove’s first responsibilities is to institute a new service excellence program. Called the Studer program, it will bring service excellence at Scotland Health Care System to a new level.
“I was attracted to Scotland Health Care System and this position because this organization has the same beliefs and value system that I have worked under for many years. I believe this is truly a good fit for me.”
Born in Ohio and raised in Pittsburgh, Dove has lived the last 20 years in Lumberton. She is married to Willard Dove, a nurse anesthetist at Southeastern Regional Medical Center, and has a 16 year-old stepdaughter and a 25 year-old stepson. She sings in the church choir, loves to read and spend time in the mountains. Dove has a master's in science in nursing and health care administration.
