Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 24, 2010 at the Richard Boles Funeral Service Chapel officiated by Dr. Glenn Harris. Burial will follow at Hillside Memorial Park.
Mrs. Patterson was born May 22, 1925 in Columbus County, daughter of the late James Clifford Bullard and Josephine Robeson Bullard. She was the loving wife of the late Edward P. Patterson, Sr. She was a devoted homemaker and dedicated her life to caring for her family. She faithfully served the Lord and was a longtime member of the Salem Emmanuel Holiness Church. Myrtle enjoyed cooking and loved to read her Bible.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Patterson was also preceded in death by her son, Edward P. Patterson, Jr.; her daughter, Betty Jean Patterson; and siblings Arthur Bullard, Addie Bullard, Glynn Meadows, Beatrice Davis, Elizabeth Jones, Marie Morgan, Theodore Bullard, Abner Bullard and Mildred Moore.
She is survived by her daughters, Ruth Cole and husband Kelly Cole of Laurinburg, Barbara Packer and husband Rowland Packer of Lakeview, S.C., and Debra Mason and husband Patrick Mason of Sanford; 12 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 23 at Richard Boles Funeral Service.
