A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 14, 2010 at Hillside Memorial Park officiated by the Rev. Randy Bremer and the Rev. Kelly Hunt.
Mr. Bracey was born Nov. 19, 1922 in Robeson County, son of the late Wiley Clinton Bracey, Sr. and Sallie Bryant Bracey. He was the devoted husband of the late Martha McRae Bracey. He was a World War II veteran who proudly served in the United States Marine Corps. He worked as a mechanic for the John Manville Company retiring after many years of dedicated service. Mr. Bracey was as a longtime member of the Old Laurel Hill Presbyterian Church where he served as a former deacon and Sunday School superintendent.
In addition to his parents and wife, Wiley was also preceded in death by sons, Stephen B. Bracey and WC Bracey, III.
He is survived by his children, Sheryl B. Clarke of McColl, S.C., Sandra J. Bracey of Laurel Hill, David M. Bracey of Durham, and Richard A. Bracey and Lynette W. Bracey both of Pittsboro; brothers Dallas Bracey of Ocean Isle and Roscoe Bracey of Hyattsville, Md.; a sister, Eloise B. McLellan of Hamer, S.C.; nine grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 13 at Richard Boles Funeral Service.
