Charles “Michael” Farris, nicknamed “Big Mike”, age 33 of Laurel Hill passed away on Saturday, Jan. 9, 2010 at Scotland Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 13, 2010 at the Richard Boles Funeral Service Chapel officiated by the Rev. Bobby Mitchell. Burial will follow at King Cemetery.

Michael was born Jan. 14, 1976 in Scotland County, son of Vickey “Shirld” Radford Farris and the late Charles Steven “Bucky” Farris. He loved his family and had a passion for motorcycles. He enjoyed repairing and especially loved racing motorcycles. Michael also worked as a truck driver and was starting his own business before his death.

He is survived by his children, sons Roger “Scooter” Farris, Austin “Little Man” Farris and Dorian “D” Farris; daughters Michaela “Mookie” Farris and MacKenzy “BooBoo” Farris; his mother, Shirld Farris of the home; a sister, Tammy Lynn Farris Peele and husband Brian of Mt City, Tenn.; a niece, Britain Peele; a special friend, Ashley Nicole Stone of Laurinburg; and his former wife, Melissa Dawn Farris of Laurinburg.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 12 at Richard Boles Funeral Service.

The family requests in lieu of flowers that memorial donations may be made to the family at P. O. Box 1913, Laurinburg, NC 28353.
