More than $5K stolen in B&E

A Gibson home owner reported more than $5,000 in property stolen during a recent break in, according to a sheriff's report.

Teresa Sutherland, 44, told deputies that someone entered her Fletcher Road home by prying open her back door, and left with 30 porcelain dolls valued at $3,000, electronics valued at $1,280 and $1,070 worth of miscellaneous items, according to the report. The incident is believed to have happened between Saturday at 11 p.m. and Monday at 3:15 p.m.

Damages were placed at $200.

Man arrested for fraud

A 41-year old Laurel Hill man was charged with fraud, according to a sheriff's report.

Samuel Omar Hunt was arrested at his Allison Road home on Monday and charged with unauthorized use of conveyance, the report said. Hunt was placed in Scotland County jail under a $1,000 secured bond.

The complainant is listed as Joann Hunt; both Hunts live at the same address.

Daytime break-in reported

A Laurinburg man told deputies he was the victim of a daytime break-in.

Leslie Howard Locklear, 42, of Old Lumberton Road, told deputies someone broke into his home and stole over $1,000 in property sometime between 7:30 a.m. and 6:15 p.m. on Monday, according to a sheriff's report.

Locklear also reported an estimated $200 to his kitchen door from the break-in.

Scooter reported stolen

The scooter of a 61-year old Laurel Hill man was stolen over the weekend, according to a sheriff's report.

Alford McNeil, of Peele's Chapel Road, reported that his 2004 Rascal 600F Scooter was taken from his screened in porch sometime between Friday at 8:30 p.m. and Sunday at 8 a.m., the report said.

Church television stolen

The television of a Maxton church was reported stolen during a recent break in.

Charles Carter, 30, of Old Baker Road, told deputies on Thursday that someone broke into Baker’s Chapel, also located on Old Baker Road, and stole a $1,550 television, according to a sheriff’s report.

Maxton break-in reported

A 32-year old man told deputies he was the victim of a weekend break-in.

Randolph McMillian, of McNeill Road, Maxton, reported on Sunday that someone broke into his home and stole $1,300 in tools and a $300 radio, according to a sheriff’s report.

Damage was $150 to a door frame.

Car reported stolen

A car recently reported stolen was recovered shortly after the initial report.

Jamie Jones, 30, of Ardell Drive, Maxton, reported on Friday that someone stole his 1994 Toyota Camry, according to a sheriff’s report.

It was valued at $4,500. It was later recovered with $500 in damage to its windows.

Power Wheels taken

A Laurinburg man reported that a toy car was stolen from his yard.

Thaddeus Banks told deputies that someone took a red Power Wheels mustang from the yard of his Sally McNair Road residence, according to a sheriff's report.
