Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 27, 2009 at the Richard Boles Funeral Services Chapel with burial following in Rogers Cemetery.
Mr. Norton was born May 8, 1923 in Scotland County, son of the lat Elijah and Fannie Norton. He was the husband of the late Flora B. Easterling Norton and the late Shirley Oxendine Locklear Norton. He worked in textiles, retiring from Fieldcrest Mills after many years of dedicated service.
In addition to his parents and wives, Mr. Norton was also preceded in death by step children, Johnny Easterling, Robert Easterling, Doris Ingram and Shelby Ann Edwards.
He is survived by his step children, Lawrence Elvis Locklear and wife Diane of Lumberton, Clay Locklear and wife Cathy of McColl, SC, Danny Melvin Locklear of Clio, SC, Otis Locklear and wife Kimberly of Laurinburg, NC, Marthga E. Boone of Laurinburg, NC, Sadie Carlisle of Taylors, SC, Virginia Brisson and husband Paul of Bladenboro, NC, Oradell Sellers of Lumberton, NC, Sandra Lee Meggs of McColl, SC and many step grandchildren and great grandchildren.
The family receives friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 26, at Richard Boles Funeral Service.
