Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at McDougald Funeral Home and Crematorium Chapel officiated by the Rev. C.F. McDowell, III. Burial will follow in Hillside Memorial Park.
Mr. Collins was born Jan. 12, 1917 in Marion County, S.C., the son of the late Robert T. and Maggie M. Watson Collins. He was the manager of the Winn Dixie supermarket in Laurinburg from 1945 until 1983 greeting each and every customer with a smile. Mr. Collins served in the U.S. Army in the Armored Tank Division and was one of the oldest living WWII veterans in this area. He farmed as a hobby raising chickens, pigs and vegetables.
Mr. Collins is survived by a daughter-in-law, Anne McRae Collins of Wilmington; a brother-in-law, R.B. Fowler and wife Ruby of Laurinburg; and various nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Fowler Collins and his only child, Robert Fowler Collins; and four brothers and sisters.

Visitation will be 10:30 until 11 a.m. Tuesday prior to the service at McDougald Funeral Home and Crematorium.
