"Our second annual Ladies Christmas Tea will be a wonderful mother, daughter, grandmother, aunt, and best friend afternoon," she said. "It will be a perfect afternoon to start the holiday season. Cloth table linens, china tea cups, fancy teas and delicious holiday treats will set the stage for a fun-filled and elegant afternoon with the special people in your life."
The entertainment provided for the event "will be wonderful", according to Schmidt.
"Mark Mannette, professional actor, storyteller, and Saint Andrews Presbyterian college drama professor, will perform a one man show titled 'Scrooge and Marley'," Schmidt said. "Mannette has only been in Laurinburg a few years and in that time he has acted in and directed several plays, performed a 'hero story' for the Hometown American Hero festival, and has offered the community many hours of great theater. Mannette is a talented actor, and the Storytelling Arts Center is proud to have him perform again."
Professional pianist Deb Bridges of Laurinburg will play a variety of Christmas songs for the event.
"I will be performing a mix of traditional favorites and light classics," Bridges said. "It will be music for the occasion."
Tickets for the event are $10 and include teas and light refreshments. Space is limited and reservations are required.
"Do not miss this charming event, like an English high tea," Schmidt said. "Tickets are selling fast, so you need to call and make your reservations soon."
