They looked like a much different team and that meant big trouble for Anson County.
Scotland was paced by 12 points from Ariel Ratcliff as the Lady Scots take one from the Lady Bearcats at their place, 52-36. The freshman point guards also added six rebounds and four steals to her cause.
“I was real pleased to see the effort the girls put out there,” said Scotland coach David Johnson. “We didn’t shoot the ball real well at Marlboro. Tonight, we came out and weren’t afraid to take shots. Much more agressive on the offensive end and getting more shots, I thought, helped our confidence.”
Besides Ratcliff, Jonissa Monley joined her in double figures with 10. Bridgette Dockery almost finished in double figures with eight. She also had eight rebounds, five steals and three blocks.
Tuesday McLaurin continued her success in a starting role for Scotland (5-2) with six points. McLaurin also led the teams in steals with nine to go along with seven rebounds.
Shae Barnes, Miriya Bryant, Roylanda Odom and Shae Barnes finished with four points apiece.
