Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 8, 2009 at the Springfield Church of God officiated by the Rev. David Shoemake and the Rev. Lawrence Garner. Burial will follow the service at Pinecrest Cemetery in Gibson.
Mr. Martin was born March 9, 1935 in Richmond County. He was the owner and operator of Cheraw Iron and Metal Company with three locations providing the surrounding counties with many years of dedicated service. He also faithfully attended the Springfield Church of God.
Troy was devoted to his family. He loved fishing and talking politics and he also enjoyed studying history.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Maxie Martin.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Betty Miller Martin of the home; sons Kenneth Martin and wife Amanda of Gibson and Mark Martin and wife Laura of Laurinburg; a daughter, Anna Jordan of Hamlet; brothers James T. Martin of Unionville, Va., Bobby G. Martin of Laurel Hill and Richard Martin of Laurinburg; and his grandchildren, Cameron, Garrett, Devin, Drew, Alex, Jacobs, Trey, Aiden, Arrington and Miracle.
