Two Scotland County residents were among the six newly elected officers South Central District 4-H Volunteer Leaders Association for 2010.

RuthAnn Ammons will be serving as the 2010 district secretary. Ammons is a home-school mom with two teens who currently participate in Scotland County 4-H.

She will also be starting a new 4-H sewing club in January.

Precious Byrd was elected to serve as parliamentarian. Byrd has three sons who are active 4-H members. She has been a 4-H volunteer for over fifteen years and is currently a volunteer leader for several Scotland County 4-H clubs, as well as professionally working with 4-H military clubs in Cumberland County.

The pair were elected during a district-wide volunteer training held recently in Moore County. They will provide direction and leadership for district and state events in the coming year.
