After going on the road and playing an overtime period, I think he got his answer.
The Lady Scots outscored Pine Forest, 14-4, in the extra frame enroute to a 55-45 win over Pine Forest Monday Night.
“It’s a big win coming off a break,” said Johnson. “I thought with the layoff we were a little rusty at the beginning. I liked the way that we fought back.”
The two teams were tied at 41 at the end of regulation before the Lady Scots dominated the extra frame.
“It’s good to get the win, especially on the road,” Johnson said. “We didn’t want to get into a tailspin after the loss to Jack Britt. Being able to to come back and get a hard fought win is good for team.”
Ariel Ratcliff paced the Lady Scots with a game-high 20 points. Brittany Dockery added 13 while Tierra Pate rounded out the double figures with 12.
Shae Barnes came off the bench to score six points and Bridgette Dockery and Jonissa Monley chipped in a basket each.
Scotland (3-1) returns home Wednesday to face Anson County at 6 p.m.
