Funeral services were on Monday, Nov. 23, 2009 at the Wagram Church of God officiated by the Rev. Harry Clark. Burial followed the service at Hillside Cemetery.
Mrs. Clark was born Dec. 17, 1928 in Laurinburg, daughter of the late George K. Johnson and Sudie Huntley Johnson. She was the devoted wife of the late James Beverly Clark. She was a dedicated employee of Abbott Laboratories, retiring with more than 29 years of service. Hazel served the Lord and was a long time faithful member of the Wagram Church of God.
She was a precious and unique lady that loved and cherished her family and her church family. She devoted her life to caring and giving to others. Hazel especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, Hazel was also preceded in death by brothers Fairley Johnson and James Johnson.
She is survived by her children, son Jimmy Clark and wife Jenny of Laurel Hill; daughter Shelia Strickland and husband Ricky of Laurinburg; brothers, Wallace Johnson and wife Juanita of Laurinburg and W.H. Johnson of California; sisters, Louise Cupit and husband James of Alabama, and Shelby “Tootie” Caulder and husband John of Laurinburg; five grandchildren, Shelly Clark Sellers, Jamie Lynn Clark, James Brodie Clark, Beverly Nichole Strickland, and Richard Todd Strickland; nine great-grandchildren, Matthew, Will, Bailey, and Ivy Sellers, Micah and Emerie Clark, Addison Strickland, Aubrey Myrick, and Jarran Strickland; and also her special church family.
The family requests that memorial donations be made in memory of Mrs. Clark to Hospice of Scotland County, P. O. Box 1033, Laurinburg, NC 28353 or the Wagram Church of God, P. O. Box 491, Wagram, NC 28396.
