Show respect for flag

I felt I needed to address a situation that has been going on several months now. I have driven by Scotland Cemetery several times and each time I have been there the flag was either so worn you could not distinguish the stars from the stripes, or there was no flag at all.

The last time that I drove by the cemetery was on Veterans Day (November 11, 2009.) I saw that the cemetery still did not have a flag up and I felt that a holiday such as this should have been shown with more respect. I have contacted Scotland Cemetery several times to address the situation and they have done nothing about it.

I am writing this letter because I also saw in the newspaper that the cemetery has a Veterans Day Special running. I feel that if they wanted to honor our veterans they should have started first with honoring the American Flag.

I do not want to single Scotland Cemetery out, but it does need to be fixed.
