“The students have been working really hard to get ready for this production,” said theatre director Vanessa Edmundson. “The kids have really come together and this should be a great performance.”
The play focuses on the wealthy Collins family who returns from dining out Christmas Eve to find their home empty, thanks to three bumbling burglars who not only took all the furniture, but every one of the perfectly wrapped Christmas presents. With nearly all their wordly possessions gone, Mom and Dad, son and daughter, have to confront each other as to the true meaning of Christmas. Slowly, as they recount happier times as a family, they come to realize how much faith they have placed in material things. With the help of a neighbor's gift of a Bible and visiting carolers, the Collins family finds peace and joy.
The curtains raise on One Christmas Eve on Nov. 18 and 19 at 7 PM in the Scotland High Auditorium. Admission for the production is $4 with proceeds going to support the theatre program.
