The Scotland ninth grade football team are Southeastern Conference Champions after a win over Pinecrest on Thursday afternoon.
The Scots beat the Patriots 30-6 in a game that Scotland dominated all aspects of the game.
"It's awesome to be conference champions," defensive coordinator Stewart Redding said.
The ninth graders finished off their season with a 269 yard total offense showing.
The Scots were able to throw the ball on the Patriots which was the block of Scotland's offense on Thursday. Scotland's passing attack totaled 139 yards against Pinecrest.
Storm Davis was 5 of 8 in passing for 120 yards on the afternoon with a touchdown while Ryan Leak finished the game going 4 of 6 in passing for 19 yards.
Tailback Daquan Graham was the leading receiver for the Scots with 103 yards with a touchdown and a fumble on six catches. Tailback Justin Brown finished the game with 40 yards receiving on three catches.
Scotland was able to run the ball consistently against Pinecrest as well ending the day with 70 yards rushing total in a two back system along with a fullback.
Tailback Justin Brown finished the game with 14 yards rushing on six carries. Tailback Daquan Graham was the leading rusher for the Scots with 33 yards on seven carries on the ground. Fullback Davone White had 15 yards rushing on four carries with a 6-yard touchdown run for the Scots. Leak had six yards on one carry with a touchdown while Davis had four yards on two carries for the Scots.
The Scotland defense continued to play stellar football on their side of the ball. The Scots let up only six points in the game which has been a trend over the season.
"Our defense has played well all year," Redding said. "We haven't given up anymore than 12 points and one of those was late in the game.
"They [defense] have played spectacular giving the offense great field position all year," he said. "They are the core of the team, no doubt."
"The offense got better as we went on through the year, but the defense held us together in the beginning, we messed well, and won the past few games pretty big."
Tralen Jones finished the afternoon with 45 yards on punt returns including a 20 yard return to set up the final touchdown of the game for the Scots.
Scotland got on the board two minutes into the game on a 44 yard screen pass from Storm Davis to Daquan Graham. Graham was untouched running down the left sideline to make the score 6-0. The extra point was good from a Justin Brown run in to make the score 8-0.
On the ensuing kickoff, Pinecrest fumbled the ball on the 30 yard line and a Scotland defender fell down on the ball to get the ball back for the Scots. A minute and 30 seconds later quarterback Ryan Leak rushed into the end-zone for a 6-yard touchdown to make the score 14-0. The extra point was good from a Justin Brown run in to make the score 16-0.
After a punt by Scotland, Pinecrest started to get some offense going but Travlon Elliot spoiled their drive with an interception. Elliot returned the pick 65-yards for a touchdown to make the score 22-0 just 30 seconds into the second quarter. The extra point was good from a Justin Brown run in to make the score 24-0.
On the ensuing drive, Pinecrest drove the field for 44 yards which would be the Patriots only score of the game. The extra point was no good to make to score 24-6. The score would stay the same going into the half and for most of the third quarter.
With one minute left in the third quarter Scotland's Davone White rushed four yards into the end-zone for the final touchdown of the game.
