Authorities are looking for a man they say tried to kill his estranged wife with an axe.

James Calvin Boyd, 56, broke into Alvina Boyd's home at 12420 Purcell Road in Laurinburg and chased her with an axe, according to a police report.

Alvina Boyd was unharmed in the incident.

Authorities believe James Boyd is armed and dangerous.
