Survivors are his wife, Elberta Pegues; five sons, James Pegues of Laurinburg, Walter Pegues of Charlotte, Kenneth Pegues of Laurinburg, Gregory Pegues of Laurinburg, and Lenwood Pegues of Kernersville; three daughters, Thelma E. Hood of Sellers, S.C., Debbie Pegues of Laurinburg, and Juliette Pegues of Laurinburg; one brother, James Pegues of McColl, S.C.; and one sister, Luvenia Kelly of Bennettsville.
