The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 19, 2009 at the Richard Boles Funeral Service Chapel. A private interment will be held at a later date.
Robert was born Sept. 24, 1952 in Richmond County, son of the late Bernice Bailey and Alma Drew Bailey. He was a painter, formerly with Manis Custom Builders. Robert enjoyed doing yard work, watching NASCAR racing, fishing and especially spending time with his family.
In addition to his parents, Robert was also preceded in death by his siblings, Betty Battle, William James “Buddy” Bailey and Samuel “Tadpole” Bailey.
He is survived by his devoted companion of 30 years, Susan Easterling of the home; his children, Richard “Allen” Easterling and Heather R. Easterling both of the home; a brother, Bernice “Ed” Bailey of Laurel Hill; sisters Barbara Tindall of Laurel Hill and Cathy Douglas of Raleigh; and a host of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 18 at Richard Boles Funeral Service.
