Maxton homes fired at

Two homes on Deep Branch Road, Maxton, were shot into early on Monday, according to a sheriff’s report.

Dustin Hunt, 23, reported at 1:35 a.m. that someone shot into his home.

Kenneth Locklear, 45, reported at 2:19 a.m. that his home was shot into and damages were $500 to his bathtub, $400 to the vinyl siding, $300 to walls, and $100 to a door.

Clerk charged with embezzlement

A Radio Shack employee was arrested Sunday for taking cash out of the draw, a police report said.

Trulane Nicole Locklear, 25, is charged with larceny by an employee.

The manager of Radio Shack noticed the cash drawer was $320 short at about 6 p.m. and called officers to the store.

The manager questioned Locklear about the missing money and she raised up her shirt and bra to show she did not have the money, the report said.

The manager noticed what appeared to be money protruding from a slit inside her bra and called police. Locklear handed the money over to officers.

She was released on a written promise to appear in court.

Washing machine taken

A Laurinburg resident recently reported that someone stole her washing machine, a Laurinburg police report said.

Mary Ann Horne, of Tara Drive, told officers that someone broke into her home between Saturday at 7 p.m. and Sunday at 5:30 p.m. and removed her washer. It is valued at $400.

Police recovered a pair of needle-nose pliers they believe may have been used to disconnect the washing machine.

Woman charged with drug possession

A Maxton woman was arrested this weekend for drug possession, a sheriff's report said.

Amber Locklear, 20, of Tuscarora Nation Road, was charged Sunday with possessing cocaine.

She was being held under a $5,000 bond.

Residential break-in reported

Electronics were reported stolen after a break-in, according to a sheriff's report.

Meegan Hammonds, 29, of Crown Drive, Maxton, reported on Saturday that someone broke into her home and stole $2,520 of electronics.

Damage to a back door was $50.

Two cars reported stolen

Two cars were recently reported stolen in Maxton.

Thomas Locklear, 42, of Alford Farms Road, reported on Monday that someone stole his white 2000 Toyota Camry, according to a sheriff’s report.

It was valued at $6,500.

Jessie Chavis, 55, reported on Friday that someone stole her 1989 Mercury Topaz, according to another sheriff’s report.

It was valued at $2,000.
