As a team the Scots had 33 kills against Cape Fear High School with 14 hitting errors with a hitting percentage of .202.
"Whitney toted the load for us on the hitting percentage tonight," Barnes said.
The Scots served at 91 percent as a team. Scotland had 75 serves and had seven serving errors along with 15 aces during the game.
The Scots passed at 81 percent as a team.
"That is well above the goal of what I set for the girls," Barnes said. "I set a goal for 66 percent."
The Scots kept the Colts out of their offense by stout serving.
"It is amazing how we are serving teams out of their offenses," Barnes said. "Thats how we win. with aggressive and smart serving throughout the game."
Individually, Josephine Yang was the leading server for the Lady Scots. Yang had 26 serving points for the Scots. She had 30 serves with only two serving errors which amounts to 93 percent serving. She also had eight aces against the Colts.
Sarah Laviner followed Yang with nine serving points of her own. She had 13 serves all to target with a hitting percentage of 100 percent,
Decausha McLean was the leading passer for the Scots. McLean had 18 passes with 16 going to target which amounts to 89 percent for the night.
Yang followed up with 15 out 18 passes to target which amounts to 83 percent.
Whitney Campbell had 18 kills at the net against the Cotls.
Whitney "The Hammer" Campbell, as Coach Barnes calls her, had an unbelievable .500 hitting percentage for the Scots. Campbell had two hitting errors out 32 hits also for the Scots.
Freshmen middle hitter Caroline Prigden had two kills at the net for the Scots.
The Lady Scots play South View tonight at 6 p.m. Jayvees play at 5 p.m.
