The funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 27, 2009 at the Smithtown Church of God officiated by the Rev. Howard Locklear, the Rev. David Kee and the Rev. Don Scott. Burial will follow the service in the church cemetery.
Allen was born Oct. 23, 1948 in Florence County, S.C., son of the late Emory and Agatha Polston. He served our country proudly as a member of the United States Air Force. He was a maintenance mechanic, a longtime dedicated employee with Murphy Brown Farms. Allen was a devoted husband and father who loved spending time with his family. He also enjoyed gardening and going to yard sales and auctions. He liked to explore and learn about new things.
In addition his parents, Allen was also preceded in death by a brother, William Garner and sister, Sarah Polston.
Allen leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 15 years, Deborah Jones Polston of the home; his children, sons Joshua W. Polston of Norfolk, Va. and Staff Sgt, Devarian “E.T.” Jones of Sumter, S.C.; daughters Alena Polston of Atlanta, Ga., Jessica Shantie and her husband Shawn Shantie of Maxton, Hilary Bullard of Wagram and Crystal Blades of Laurinburg; brothers Leonard “Tincey” Milligan of Laurinburg and Carl Polston of Ridgeville, S.C.; 12 grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and a host of family of friends.
The visitation will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 26 at Richard Boles Funeral Service.
