Teen charged with possession

A Laurinburg teenager was charged with possession following a traffic stop.

According to a Laurinburg police report, 19-year old Perry Dwight Dixon, Jr., of Biggs Street, was arrested Friday and charged with possession with the intent to sell and deliver marijuana.

Dixon was stopped by officers on Stewartsville Road. He was asked if he had any drugs or weapons on his person and told the officers he had some marijuana in his pocket. A search revealed eight bags of marijuana.

The teen was placed in Scotland County jail under a $1,000 bond.

Man accused of assault, threats

Warrants were served on a Gibson man on accusation he threatened and assaulted a woman.

According to a sheriff's report, James Ronald McLaurin, 50, of Old McColl Road, was arrested Tuesday at about 2:30 p.m. He is charged with assault on a female and communicating threats for an incident that occurred Monday.

The complainant, Brenda Ann McDonald, lives at the residence with McLaurin.

McLaurin was placed in Scotland County jail under a $500 bond.

School property reported stolen

A Scotland County Schools' employee told Laurinburg police that several power tools were stolen from his truck Monday, according to a police report.

The man told officers he was mowing the lawn at Legion Park and when he returned, he noticed a push lawn mower and a weed eater missing from his vehicle.

The items are worth $550, the report said.
