Caledonia United Methodist Church in Laurinburg will hold its 174th homecoming celebration on Aug. 23 at 10:30 a.m. The Hometown Quartet southern gospel group will be the featured entertainment.

The Rev. Patricia Stone encourages everyone to attend the special festivities.

"We invite everyone to join us for worship services and praise music with the Hometown Quartet, who will begin our homecoming day at 10:30 a.m. The Rev. Richard Stone of Fuquay-Varina, a retired former pastor at Caledonia, will be our guest preacher. Come enjoy fellowship and good food with us on Aug. 23."

A covered dish luncheon will follow the morning service.

Stuart Carmichael of the Hometown Quartet said the group is looking forward to the homecoming performance.

"This will be our second trip to Caledonia this year, and we are looking forward to it," he said. "Caledonia is a lovely church with good acoustics; come meet our new lead singer, Mike Autin, and enjoy some good singing and fellowship with us."

The Hometown Quartet will also be performing Aug. 30 at Broad Ridge Baptist Church in Lumberton and Sept. 12 at the Kiwanis Club fifth annual gospel jubilee in Laurinburg.

Caledonia United Methodist Church is located at 15201 Barnes Bridge Road just off Highway 501 South in Laurinburg.
