Laurinburg police charged two women with receipt fraud last month after they allegedly tried to steal diapers from Wal-Mart.
According to a police report, 18-year old Stacy Bethea of Carver Street in Laurinburg, and 22-year old Lashonda McLean, of Old Wire Road in Laurel Hill, were arrested and charged with obtaining property through false pretense.
The report says the two women attempted to take two tote bags, two grip cups, two baby wipes and two packs of diapers using a receipt from a purchase made earlier that same day.
They were placed in Scotland County jail under a $3,000 bond.
Assault arrest made
A Laurel Hill man was charged with assault and trespassing.
Deputies arrested Damon Lee Spencer, 41, of Louder Road, at his residence Sunday at 9 a.m., according to a sheriff's report.
He is charged with assault with a deadly weapon and domestic trespassing.
Spencer was placed in Scotland County jail without bond.
Employee accused of stealing
A gas station attendant is accused of stealing from her work, according to a sheriff's report.
Emily Christopher, 41, of North Turnpike Road in Wagram, was arrested Friday around noon and charged with two counts of larceny by an employee. She worked at Nic's Pic Kwik #3, located on Bundy Street in Wagram.
The report says Christopher was placed in Scotland County jail under a $2,500 bond.
City man charged with drugs
Laurinburg police arrested a city resident for possession of marijuana at a traffic stop on Caledonia Road on Friday.
According to a police report, Donnie DeWayne Kollock, 35, of Grant Street, was charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana. Officers say they found 11 bags of the drug on Kollock.
The report said Kollock, the passenger of the vehicle, was searched because he exited the vehicle as officers approached.
He was placed in Scotland County jail under a $30,000 bond.
Kollock has a previous conviction for drug possession, according to DOC records.
Teen accused of assault
A Scotland County man was charged with assaulting another with a handgun.
According to a sheriff's report, 19-year old Josh David Oxendine, of Patterson Street in Laurel Hill, was charged Friday night with assault with a deadly weapon. Oxendine allegedly assaulted Ron Oxendine, 30, with a handgun.
Oxendine was released on a written promise to appear for court.
Man charged with conspiracy
A Laurel Hill man was arrested Friday afternoon on conspiracy charges, according to a sheriff's report.
Deputies charged 38-year old Gary Wayne Woodard, of Marsh Road, with two counts of felony conspiracy, the report said. He was placed in Scotland County jail under a $5,000 bond.
The report says Woodard is the second arrest in the case.
Woodard has several previous convictions for breaking and entering, larceny and drug-related charges, according to DOC records. He was incarcerated for 9 months for larceny. He was released in February.
Teen charged with possession
A Laurinburg teenager was charged with possession following a traffic stop.
According to a Laurinburg police report, 19-year old Perry Dwight Dixon, Jr., of Biggs Street, was arrested Friday and charged with possession with the intent to sell and deliver marijuana.
Dixon was stopped by officers on Stewartsville Road. He was asked if he had any drugs or weapons on his person and told the officers he had some marijuana in his pocket. A search revealed eight bags of marijuana.
The teen was placed in Scotland County jail under a $1,000 bond.
