A Laurinburg man was killed when a tree fell on him Monday morning, officials say.

Police say 58-year old Edward Norton, known to most as "Skibo," died of injuries received when he walked underneath a tree work crews were removing from South Main Street.

The incident was ruled an accident, police say.
