Tournament organizers gathered in the pro shop at Scotch Meadows Country Club recently to plan this year's event. Left to right they are Sandy Carter, president of the Scottish Pilot Club; Chip Wells, golf pro at Scotch Meadows Country Club; Donna Young, tournament committee member; and Debbie Grant, tournament co-chair. Not pictured: Charlotte Pilson, co-chair.
The tournament will be four-person teams (men, women or mixed) playing two-low net best balls using a 75 percent handicap. Awards for longest drive, closest to the pin, and hole in one will be presented, as well as cash prizes for the top three winning teams. The entry fee is $60 per person and includes the green fee, a cart, breakfast, refreshments on course and an awards luncheon. Mulligans will be available at two for $5. Several items will be raffled during the one day event.
Non-golfers will have an opportunity to enjoy the day as well. Scottish Pilots are organizing a Fall Bridge and Brunch to be held in the clubhouse during the Golf Tournament. Additional details will be announced later.
Anyone interested in playing in either event or those with questions may contact the following persons: Committee Co-Chairs Debbie Grant at 280-8944 or Charlotte Pilson at 276-8680; Pilot Club President Sandy Carter at 280-2159; or Chip Wells, golf pro at Scotch Meadows Country Club at 276-0169.
Carter said that she "is very excited about the Barbara Sasseen Memorial Golf Tournament this year and would love to have everyone come out and enjoy the day. As you know, all of the profits from the event stay in the county".
