Mrs. Betty Huggins Small, 59, wife of Steve Small, formerly of Marion, S.C., died Saturday, July 18, 2009 at her home in Laurinburg after an extended illness.

She was born Feb. 28, 1950 in Marion, a daughter of the late Liston Huggins and the late Daisy Belle Cooper Huggins Campbell. Betty was a homemaker.

Surviving Betty in addition to her husband of the home are a son, Steven Small and his wife Katherine, of Little River, S.C.; two daughters, Ashley Cline and her husband Phillip of Laurinburg and Amy Cox and her husband Bobby of Lumberton; her grandchildren, HaLeigh Small, Ethan Cox, Avery Cox, Olivia Cox, Braden Cline, and Brylie Cline; two brothers, Bill Huggins and his wife Nancy of Columbia, S.C. and Willie Huggins and his wife Jaxie of Marion; a sister, Jewell Harrelson and her husband Henry of Sumter, S.C.; and a sister-in-law, Faye Huggins.

Funeral services were held 11 a.m. Monday, July 20, 2009 at the Marion Church of God in Marion. Burial was in Red Hill Memorial Gardens Cemetery, directed by Cox-Collins Funeral Home of Mullins.
