Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 3, 2009 at the Laurel Hill Baptist Church officiated by the Rev. Don Malpass and the Rev. Kyle Wycoff. Burial will follow the service at Hillside Memorial Park.
Rev. Ansley was born August 17, 1918 in McDuffie County, Ga. He was the son of the late Howard L. and Josie Wells Ansley and the devoted husband of the late Mary Alice McKenzie Ansley.
Rev. Ansley was a committed servant of the Lord. He served as the pastor of many churches including Old Hundred Baptist Church. He was a founder of Calvary Baptist Church and Stewartsville Baptist Church. He was serving as a faithful member of Laurel Hill Baptist Church. Rev. Ansley also worked with Quality Parts and Equipment, retiring after 30 years of dedicated service.
He is survived by four sons, Alvin Wayne Asley and wife Mary Frances of Laurinburg, Paul Ansley and wife Judy of Laurel Hill, Roger Ansley and wife Lynn of Charlotte, and Sam A. Ansley, Jr. and wife Susan of South Lake, Texas; a brother, Wilmer Ansley of Augusta, Ga.; a sister, Hazel Bates of Oklahoma; sister-in-laws Bulah Coburn of Maine and Juanita and Bill Gibson of Michigan; nine grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, July 2 at Richard Boles Funeral Service.
