"We were extremely pleased with the turnout, and very appreciative of the sponsorships and the players," she said. "Scotland County is great for coming out to support charities, and we do appreciate it."
The tournament was won by a team composed of William Carter of Laurinburg, his mother Eloise Carter of Hope Mills, Charles Bounds of Laurinburg and Dixie Musselwhite of Raeford.
"It was a great team effort," William Carter said. "The greens putted well, and everyone contributed to the win."
Carter's team was tied at 16 under par with another team at the end of 18 holes, and a scorecard playoff was held.
"We birdied on the first hole, which gave us the win," he said. "It was a good tournament." The team won with a low gross of 56.
The second place team, composed of Dean English, Jim Britt, David Monroe and Perry Johnson, was awarded first place in the category of lowest numbers of putts.
A homemade Amish quilt was raffled at the tournament, with Sam Manning of Laurinburg possessing the winning number.
"The quilt raffle was extremely successful," Callahan said. "We don't have the final figures yet, but everyone is pleased with the results."
The Faith Presbyterian Women served participants a meal of chicken salad, orange congealed salad, crackers and canteloupe. Each player received a door prize.
A tithe of 10 percent will be presented to the Scotland Community Health Clinic as soon as final figures are in, according to Callahan.
