Doris Easterling Ingram of Laurinburg passed away on Wednesday, June 24, 2009 at the age of 79.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday; June 27, 2009 at Saint Luke United Methodist Church officiated by the Rev. Jay Winston. Burial will follow at Hillside Memorial Park.

Mrs. Ingram was born May 9, 1930 in Scotland County, daughter of the late Edgar Lee Easterling and Flora Brown Easterling. She was a devoted homemaker, a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She also worked in textiles, retiring from J.P. Stevens, Incorporated after many years of dedicated service.

Doris was a longtime faithful member of Saint Luke United Methodist Church, where she served on the executive board of the United Methodist Women. She also volunteered her time with Church Community Services and the Steven’s Ministry.

In addition to her parents, Doris was preceded in death by a daughter, Cecile Ingram and a brother, Johnny Easterling.

She is survived by her husband, Joe “Mack” Ingram of their home; son Dale Easterling and wife Debbie of Wilmington; her daughter, Glenda Reese of Kinston; a brother, Robert Easterling of Laurinburg; sisters Martha Boone of Laurinburg and Sadie Carlisle of Taylors, S.C.; five grandchildren, Jessica Smith, Micky Easterling, Joe Easterling, Hayleigh Reese, and Chase Reese; and four great-grandchildren, Caroline Easterling, Eston Easterling, Noelle Easterling and Moriah Easterling.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, June 26, 2009 at Richard Boles Funeral Service.

The family requests in lieu of flowers that memorials be made in memory of Mrs. Ingram to the Saint Luke United Methodist Church, 1501 Turnpike Road, Laurinburg, NC 28352.
