The search is on for outstanding older workers in Scotland County.
U.S. Rep. Larry Kissell is requesting nominations from the 8th District to find America’s Outstanding Oldest Worker.
For consideration, the worker must be at least 100 years of age, currently working 20 hours a week in paid employment and agreeable to receiving public recognition including media coverage. The nominee must be willing to travel to Washington in September.
“Older folks have always been a huge part of our district workforce,” Kissell said. “They bring experience and wisdom to the workplace, and their knowledge is invaluable to a successful business. This award is a chance to honor their contributions to our community.”
To nominate someone, contact the Concord District Office at 704-786-1612 by June 10.
The effort is being organized by Experience Works, a national, nonprofit, community-based organization dedicated to helping older people find good jobs in their communities.
