Mr. John David McRae, 62, of 22581 Bunch Road, Laurel Hill, died Wednesday, May 13, 2009 at Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst. Funeral services will be held Sunday, May 17, 2009 at 3 p.m. at Shady Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Raeford. The Rev. Johnnie Gorham will officiate. Burial will be at Robinson Chapel Cemetery in Laurel Hill. Visitation will be Saturday, May 16, 2009 at McPhatter Funeral Home in Laurel Hill from 6 to 7 p.m.

Survivors are his mother, Elouise Stubbs of Raeford; his wife, Louvenia McRae of Laurel Hill; four sons, Maurice McRae of Aberdeen, John David McRae, Jr. of Pinehurst, and Brandon McRae and Patrick Williams of Laurinburg; two daughters, Sheila Smith of Southern Pines and Beverly Williams of Laurel Hill; seven sisters, Dorothy McLaughlin of Brooklyn, N.Y., Virginia Rohmaan of Fayetteville, and Shirley McRae, Thelma Bishop, Edna Dailay, Teresa Stubbs, and Beverly Stubbs of Raeford; 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
