The event is hosted by the National Association of University Women Robeson/Scotland Branch
The six contestants include residents of Maxton, Laurinburg, and Charlotte.
They are: Taylor Nishae Zakiya Davis, Deja Iman Fairley, Asia Lanae Henderson, T'asia McManus, Moesha O'Queata Pate, and Aquasia Tavon Smith.
Education is a major focus for NAUW, organizers say.
The pageant is one of the means the Branch uses to raise funds for scholarships that are awarded annually. The public is welcome at the free event.
